The Scientific Committee invites authors to submit abstracts to be considered for inclusion in the programme.

Authors must follow the guidelines for abstract submission set out below. Abstracts not conforming to these guidelines will not be considered.

Abstract submission deadline

The abstract submission deadline is 9th April 2025

Guidelines for the Submission:

• Abstract submission must be completed online via the Abstract Submission form in this website.  Abstracts sent by email will not be accepted.
• Register to access the congress by the online registration form and submit your abstract from your private area. Follow all the steps.
• In order to submit a communication, it is necessary that at least the presenting author is registered.  One author can submit 2 abstract
• All correspondence concerning the abstract will be sent to submitting author’s e-mail address.
• Authors will be notified about the delivery of their abstract by e-mail immediately. In case you will not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please check your spam folder. In case of no confirmation e-mail, please contact Technical Secretariat
• The final decision on acceptance or rejection of an abstract is made by the scientific and organizing committees. Accepted abstracts will be presented as posters, but some of them will be also selected for a short talk presentation after the reviewing process (see below).
• Make sure that the title and abstract do not exceed the maximum number of characters: 250 title, 1800 abstract body.
• The poster format should be vertical, with a size of 90 cm (width) x 120 cm (height).
• Papers must be presented in English, both in poster format and if selected for oral format
• Oral presentations will be selected by the chairs of each session from among the papers presented. See the program here https://sbe2025.com/program/

Communications will be submitted under some of the following ten subjects:

1. Cell and tissue biophysics. Mechanobiology.
2. Disordered proteins. Liquid-liquid phase separation and aggregation.
3. Protein structure, integrative structural biology, dynamics and function.
4. Biophysics of nucleic acids.
5. Applied biophysics for industry, biotechnology, health and green transition.
6. Computational biophysics. Simulations, artificial intelligence, machine learning and design.
7. Synthetic biophysics: self-organized and biomimetic systems.
8. Membrane and membrane proteins.
9. Advanced bioimaging.
10. Systems biophysics.

Changes and corrections

Once submitted, it is not possible to make any corrections to the abstract content or information (above all authors list and details). Changes will not be included in the publications.

If accepted, your abstract will be published as submitted.

Please check the co-authors before sending, title and co-authors will be published in the program exactly as you send them.

Spanish Biophysical Society (SBE) fellowships:

The Spanish Biophysical Society (SBE) will fund 20 fellowships (250€) for young researchers to cover the attendance fee of the XVIII International Congress of the Spanish Biophysical Society.

The Scientific Committee gives all authors of communications the opportunity to publish their accepted work after the corresponding peer-review process in one or both scientific journals: Biophysical Reviews (BR) and/or European Journal of Biophysics (EJB).
